On 08/31/2026, Stephen J. Donell was selected as Partition Referee to sell the co-owned Tabor Street property in Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, November 3, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Los Angeles has selected Stephen J. Donell to serve as Partition Referee over the real property located at 10810 Tabor Street, Los Angeles, California 90034, in Jorge Guzman v. Alejandro Jorge Guzman, Case No. 25STCV33219, before the Honorable Virginia Keeny.

When co-owners cannot agree on the future of property they own together, a court may appoint a neutral partition referee to carry out the sale or division of the property in accordance with the court’s order. Under the Court’s Amended Order in this matter, Mr. Donell has full authority to partition the Tabor Street property by sale.

As the Los Angeles partition referee, Mr. Donell will set the listing price based on market data, retain licensed real estate brokers, manage and preserve the property throughout the process, execute closing documents, and present the proposed sale to the Court for confirmation.

Mr. Donell will also oversee the final accounting associated with the property. This includes evaluating competing claims for reimbursements, credits, and other adjustments and presenting the Court with a clear recommendation regarding distribution of the net proceeds following the sale.

A California partition action can provide a court-supervised path toward resolution when multiple owners of real property cannot agree on whether or how the property should be sold. The partition referee serves as a neutral third party charged with carrying out the responsibilities authorized by the court, including management of the property, coordination of the sale, accounting, and reporting to the Court.
